gislab-unit: image link

Martin Landa
Hi,

I have several images on my unit which I need to quickly switch if
needed. All my client images are stored in `/mnt/backup`. The
`desktop` directory just contains symlink to the selected image.

ls -l /opt/gislab/system/clients/desktop/
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root   42 Feb 22 15:06 image ->
/mnt/backup/client-desktop-image-original/
drwxr-xr-x 22 root root 4096 Feb 22 14:40 root

I just wanted to know if it OK or do you recommend to put the image
file to the partition where the root directory is located to speed up
booting or so?

Thanks, Martin

hm, this is nonsense, then `gislab-client-image` rewrites the backup.
Sorry for noise, it was a bad idea. Martin

Hi Martin, anyway, I would welcome if you would come with some proposal to
improve images and chroots handling. BTW, chroot will be replaced by
systemd-nspawn in GIS.lab 1.0, which is opening some new possibilities.

And also, Ubuntu 16.04 is coming with ZFS which can allow unsuspected kung-fu
with filesystem volumes.

I would use ZFS filesystem for client's chroots and snapshots, clones and
sends/receives for multiple images creation and backup [1].
