geoserver does not want to start anymore

Bart van den Eijnden (OSGIS)
Hi list,

I don't know what happened on our system (Red Hat Enterprise 3, Tomcat 5),
but when I try to access the Geoserver admin page, I now get the error
below.

Does anybody have an idea what could cause this?

Thanks.

Bart

Re: geoserver does not want to start anymore

Chris Holmes-2
NoSuchMethodErrors are due to java calling a method that was there at
compile time, but when it went to look for it could not find it.  For
this error the two most likely causes are changing the version of
either java or xerces.  Perhaps a new xerces got on the classpath?  Or
you installed a new version of java?  You also could try sticking the
latest xerces-J on the classpath, or in geoserver/WEB-INF/lib.  Perhaps
the java you are using doesn't include the full version or something?

Re: geoserver does not want to start anymore

Bart van den Eijnden (OSGIS)
Hi Chris,

thanks for your reply. The cause in our case was that Tomcat was running
out of disk space ....

Best regards,
Bart
