Re: coordinate conversion

Hi,

Our projection code has readers that expect a given format.  So if it's in a standard format from a provider that we can read your ossim-info will print out a good set of geometry keywords.   You can test your data by doing.

$ ossim-info <your.tif>

You will get a lot of stuff if it works.  If not, you'll see "nan"s in the coordinates and you won't have a projection type.
// Example:
image0.geometry.projection.type:  ossimNitfRpcModel

// Then you can use any ossim-info  to get coods.

$ ossim-info --img2grd 0 0 5V090205M0001912264B220000100072M_001508507.ntf
image0.ground_point:  (-42.7835090156062,147.165822847333,486.079723730906,WGE)

Hope that helps,
Dave

Re: coordinate conversion

David Burken-2
Hi,

Please keep your questions to the ossim mailing list.  I'd suggest getting a sample commercial nitf dataset like from Digital Globe.  I think they have sample data with RPCs.  Then you can run ossim-info and see how things work.  If we pick up a RPC model from the source support data yes it will use the coefficients. Note you also need elevation at that point.  Some resources:

Doxygen is a great resource:
http://trac.osgeo.org/ossim/doxygen/classossimRpcModel.html

User documentation on ossim:
http://trac.osgeo.org/ossim/wiki/UserDocs

This is a good doc:
http://download.osgeo.org/ossim/docs/pdfs/OSSIMGeoCell__User_Manual__1.8.18-1.pdf

Sensor model stuff:
http://trac.osgeo.org/ossim/wiki/ossimImageViewGroundSpaces

Hope this helps,
Dave

i am using line to world and world to line for converting image coordinate to lat/long using OSSIM.
how does this conversion takes place ?
it is taking RPC coeff or corner coordinate ?
i want this conversion to take place according to user input RPC , how it can be done ? is there any direct function available to input our own RPC file?

It's the same just in a windows cmd shell.  There is a windows installer here:

what is the solution then?

So you need to set up you elevation:

The below command was just in a linux bash shell:

i am working on refinement of RPCs. so , i want to see how accurate they are now.
using input as image and RPC file how to convert pixel to lot/long using OSSim.

the commands
$ ossim-info <your.tif>
image0.geometry.projection.type:  ossimNitfRpcModel
where to write these command ? in cmd?
