Dear Nicolas, it would be very good if you can delete the wrong page of the Academic Track, as I know many other people who are still getting confused.Thank you, Marco Marco Minghini, Ph.D. GEOlab, Politecnico di Milano - DICA+39 02 23996409 2017-03-07 17:03 GMT+01:00 Luca Delucchi <[hidden email]>: On 7 March 2017 at 16:56, nicolas bozon <[hidden email]> wrote: _______________________________________________ Conference-Europe mailing list [hidden email] https://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/conference-europe |

Dear academic track chairs, I have a doubt about paper submission and publications. Is it mandatory to submit a paper? What if someone want to present a work related to a paper already submitted to another journal? Or if he/she decide to select a different journal for my publication? I'm asking because in Como it actually happened.. Kind regards, Massimiliano Il 15 mar 2017 5:47 PM, "nicolas bozon" <[hidden email]> ha scritto:

Dear Massimiliano the contributions to the Academic Track should be original, that is not something already appeared. We are still discussing about the possibility of having the papers before published in the ISPRS Archives, which is indexed in Scopus. In this case it is NOT optional. On the opposite if you don't want to publish on the selected journal, it is not a problem. Best, Maria

Dear Maria,
Of course the contribution should be original (which means not previously presented or published). The point is if the academic track want to impose or not the publication of the work according to their arrangements. In Como papers was automatically published as part of the proceedings and put online freely accessible. When we selected some papers for publication the author decided to go for another journal, but at this point the work was already published... So the question is: what about this year process? I think that is should be clarified before of the deadline, so that people can do their own choices. From your previous answer i understood it is not jet sure and may depend on future agreements... Dear Maxi, just to clarify one point you mentioned:
In Como we gave everyone to choice between short paper (up to 4 pages) and long paper (up to 12 pages) and clearly stated that they were all published on conference proceedings. Short papers (published on conference proceedings) can be typically submitted (and accepted) in a longer version for academic journals (at least this is what I did for a paper), so in my opinion this was a good opportunity for authors.
I agree with you that this has to be clarified. However, tomorrow's deadline is just for an abstract (500-800 words), then let's see what happens for the paper (deadline: May 15).
Best, Marco
