WMS image rendering problem

David Dabney
I am new to GeoServer and am trying to get the Mapbuilder demos to
work.  I installed 1.3.0 RC 1 as well as Java 1.5, JAI and I/O
extensions JDKs, but wms queries do not work.  I'm using the Jetty
engine that comes with the install.

Here's the exeption code:

<ServiceException code="">javax/media/jai/util/Range</ServiceException>

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Dave

Re: WMS image rendering problem

Sounds like JAI didn't properly make it in (though we are trying to at
least get the WMS to work without jai by default).  With 1.5 there's
this weird thing if you click on 'install public jre' during the
install that seems to confuse the JAI installation.  If you fire up the
web admin tool and go to the Admin page it should show you if JAI
actually got in there.

If it is actually in there then we've got some problems.  If not then
I'd recommend maybe going back to 1.4, or trying 1.5 without the public
jre, or some weird combinations of jai installs (I hate jai :( )

good luck,

Chris
