Unable to save option selections for Tile Layers

Carol Kraemer-2

Hello!

I have GeoNode 2.8 installed with GeoServer version 2.12.2 installed on a VM with Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.

This is my first experience setting up GeoNode and GeoServer. I’ve been scouring the archive and Google but didn’t see anything addressing the issue that I have encountered. I’m hoping this is just something simple that I have overlooked.

I installed the Vector Tiles plugin for version 2.12.2. While following the Vector Tiles Tutorial on the GeoServer website (http://docs.geoserver.org/latest/en/user/extensions/vectortiles/tutorial.html), I attempted to select the geojson and topojson formats within a boundary layer I uploaded while logged in as admin. I saved the settings, but when I returned to review the selections for the layer, they reverted back to being unchecked. I tried to make other changes to see what would happen and they too reverted to the default options after saving. What could be causing this?

Thank you in advance for your guidance!

-Carol

Hi Carol,
it is very possible that GWC plugin for GeoServer is not properly working. I experienced a lot of issues with latest GeoServer versions trying to save options from GeoServer GUI.

It is worth trying to use GeoServer 2.13.x, you can try to update your WAR from here

WARNING: Do a backup of your data dir before upgrading. Just in case!

Thank you so much, Alessio! I will try that. I’ve been testing GeoNode within a virtual machine so I’ll be sure to take snapshots…just in case. J
