Post SLD

dblasby
Alex,

1. if you are using SLD-POST, you do not have to modify the
configuration of geoserver - you just send the POST request off to the
server.

2. if are *perminently* changing an SLD file inside geoserver,
    a) upload the new SLD using the web-application
(config->data->styles)
    b) press "apply"
    c) press "save"

From you message, it sounds like you are not doing (b) and (c).

If you just want to send a custom SLD to the server for a single image
draw, you should be doing #1 - this is what "SLD-POST" means.  If you
want to perminently update (or add) a style in geoserver, then do #2
(this is like GetStyle/PutStyle operations).

I posted  an SLD-POST example here:

http://docs.codehaus.org/display/GEOSDOC/SLD+Snippets

The same example as getMap.url in the WCS branch, remove the Img_sample layer and raster style if you are just using the main branch.

BTW, how does one get to browse wiki pages? The only way to get to a user-contributed page for me is to search Google. There was an index for all wiki pages but I didn't see a link in the GEOS/HOME menu.
