Official Launch of OSGeoIE 2019 - Thursday 11th April 2019
We are delighted to now officially launch OSGeoIE 2019 (the 3rd annual Irish Local Chapter OSGeo Symposium) which will be held at the Metropole Hotel in Cork City on Thursday 11th April 2019. This follows on from our very successful inaugural event in Limerick in May 2017 and in Portlaoise last May 2018.
There will be a few small changes and improvements this year. We'll be announcing a student-focused Poster competition. We've also introduced a student-friendly priced ticket which will remain the same price right up to the event. We'll also be expanding our sponsorship options.
We're also very excited to announce three workshops at the symposium: An Introduction to GC2, An Introduction to OpenStreetMap (by OSM Ireland) and Geospatial Python.
The symposium homepage is on the OSGeo Wiki at .
You'll find student (€40) and early bird (€60) tickets onsale at .
You'll find the Call for Participation (to give a lightning talk) at . The deadline for these short submissions is March 22nd 2019. The OSGeoIE symposium invites anyone using OSGeo and FOSS4G tools in Ireland to tell the community about their experiences, innovations etc. The symposium maintains a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
We'll be tweeting on @OSGeoIE.
We're very much looking forward to the event and your participation.
May the FOSS be with you.
Peter (on behalf of the OSGeoIE Local Organising Committee)
