OSGeo breakfast at Digital Earth Symposium in Sydney, Australia

Cameron Shorter
The international Digital Earth Symposium, and Locate 2017 is being held
in Sydney Australia, 3 - 6 April 2017.

http://locateconference.com/

I'll be there talking about the "Illusive Open Business".

Who else with Open Source Geospatial interests will be there too?

I suggest we get together at some point. Maybe breakfast on Thursday 5
April. Who is interested?

Warm regards,

Will try to get there...

P.S. anyone who is interested might want to check out the semantic and gazetteer django module extensions for Geonode I've been working with Boundless to develop here:

and some provisioning scripts here:

Ross Johnson

Hi Cameron,

Yes, I am interested in this proposed OsGeo breakfast on Thursday morning 6 April.  Say 7.00am/7.15am/7.30am start?

Also, SIBA is having their business breakfast on Wednesday, 5 April commencing 7.30am.

The free spatial market day is on Tuesday, 4 April commencing 9.00am

GeoRabble is on Tuesday, 4 April commencing 4.00pm.

DigitalGlobe are holding a free user forum on big data Friday, 7 April at UNSW commencing 12.30pm.

As you can see, lots on that week !!

Talk soon,

Regards Ross

Dang!  I'll be at Locate on Tuesday and Wednesday talking about NationalMap, and hanging out at the Data61 booth.

Shame I'll miss the breakfast, but it'd be good to catch up with whoever else is around!

In reply to this post by Cameron Shorter
Hiya folks

I’ll be there with my NCI hat on, checking out the landscape and learning stuff. And Thursday 6 April is my birthday :) Breakfast sounds like a good start!

Any Sydney locals on the list keen to propose a venue? if not I’m happy to consult my bro - who knows where to get a good breakfast (and lives in Sydney).

Cheers

Adam

In reply to this post by Cameron Shorter
Hi all,
How are people placed to meet Wednesday morning instead (so that Toby
can join us)?

I've found a location to meet:
Mediterranea
177 Harbourside Promenade, Darling Harbour (100 meters from the
Convention Centre)
http://www.mediterranearestaurant.com.au/

As daylight saving will have just switched over, I'm suggesting an early
start, to give time to give us time to chat:
* 7:00am Meet and coffee is available
* 7:45am Breakfast available
* 8:45am Digital Earth Symposium starts.

Can people please reply to confirm their availability and I'll book a table.

Warm regards, Cameron

Alan Keown

Hi Rob,

I can’t make it to the breakfast but I am coming to the free market day on Tuesday.

Is there a chance we could catch up?

Cheers

Alan Keown

“…And then came the grandest idea of all!

We actually made a map of the country, on the scale of a mile to the mile!

Have you used it much? I enquired.
It has never been spread out, yet,  said Mein Herr:

the farmers objected:

they said it would cover the whole country, and shut out the sunlight!

So we now use the country itself, as its own map, and I assure you it does nearly as well…”

I can’t make it to the breakfast but I am coming to the free market day on Tuesday.

Is there a chance we could catch up?
