[MS4W-Users] user logging with apache

Mark Volz
Hello,

I was just wondering if there is a way to log how many times individual users access a site when I am using basic security.  http://maptools.org/ms4w/index.phtml?page=README_INSTALL.html#password-protection-configuration-for-applications

Thanks

Re: user logging with apache

Hello,

I realized I just need to enable mod_logio.c.   Now I just need to get a decent web log viewer that will view how many times each user has been to the site.

I just tested those steps locally, here are my results:

- I tried to access a "127.0.0.1/fastcgi/" page
- I logged in as user "jeff"
- I then checked Apache's access.log (/ms4w/Apache/logs/access.log) and I notice this entry was added:

        127.0.0.1 - jeff [14/Feb/2012:12:43:48 -0400] "GET /fastcgi/ HTTP/1.1" 200 1523

So the user 'jeff' was logged in that file.

That may help you.  But for an exact count of how many times for each user - I am not sure.

-jeff
