Joining polygons

Joris Hintjens
Hello,
I have a shapefile with polygons that I want to join if they touch. They have no useful property to group them. How can I do that?

My goal: group parcels within house blocks to 1 polygon. So that my layer of parcels becomes a layer of house blocks.
see a sample at

Re: Joining polygons

Thanks for you input, but this does not work. It makes 1 multi polygon, not multiple polygons. It asks an attribute to separate the polygons, but I have no useful attributes that differ in the right way.

Thanks. Tried it yesterday, didn’t work. Now it does work. Must have done something wrong.

Issue closed. Thank you all.
