Issue while uploading translations made with QtLinguist to Transifex

Tomasz Rychlicki
Transifex Webtranslation page for QGIS is on https://www.transifex.com/qgis/

There is also something that imho needs to be changed.

If I take a TS to translate from Transifex, edit this TS and upload it to Transifex after certain amount of time it will roll back (overwrite) changes that someone might do during the period between mine downloading and uplading TS from/to Transifex.
Is there a possibility to add a check of translated strings during upload if they are newer than stored in Transifex and update them only if they are? In the state that we have now it's highly possible to overwrite someone's work and throw it away.

Hi Tomasz,

Thats exactly why the translation on transifex is the prefered one.
If you really have to check out the *.ts file you should upload it again as soon as possible.
The consistency with more people working on the project can only be guaranteed when working inside transifex.

Checking out the ts should only be an exception to the normal workflow (or you coordinate with the other translators).
The checkout and upload is fully managed by transifex so there is less we can do about that.

regards
Werner

This can solved by using the "Review" function in Transifex; reviewed
strings shouldn't be owerwritten - new translations to those are
supposed to be added as suggestions.
The reviewer has access to all suggestions which have been made for a
particular string.
