Geoserver data admin errors

scottpez
Hi,

I just installed Geoserver with Tomcat 5.0. I am running the administration
tool and trying to add data. Anytime I click the "apply" button or the
"load" button when trying to add data, I get the error below. I seem to be
able to add Namespaces, and Stores fine but then when I click "Apply", I get
this error. Does anyone know what's going on here?

Thanks,
Scott

Re: Geoserver data admin errors

That's a bug, go ahead and submit it to JIRA:
http://docs.codehaus.org/pages/viewpageattachments.action?pageId=22752
It's a weird problem, as basically it's trying to find a handler to
write the log messages, and can't find any, which is odd.  But at the
very least there is a bad hard code there, that should give a better
error.

I've never heard of this bug before, so you may try another version of
tomcat and/or of java.  What java version are you running?  And what
exact version of Tomcat?  Put this in the bug report as well.

thanks,

Chris
