Fwd: Raster Upload visualization issues

naresh
Dear All,
I have published Geotiff in my GeoNode server. Original uploaded geotiff is attached with the mail for reference. Please find the following screenshots with various scale levels.

 Scale:1:272492

Inline image 1
 scale:1:136428

Inline image 2

The following problems are observed

1. Some portion shining/brightness  is more, how ever if we increase zoom level in same portion, few portion only getting brighter and this is varying based on zoom level
2. Small ,small white lines are visible, which makes image quality poor
3.  Over all image is  visible as patches
4. Over all image looks compressed vertically

Kindly help me to resolve the issues

Note: I have tried to upload in demo Geonode site,GeoNode site is not working. Please kindly up the GeoNode demo server

Best Regards,
Naresh

Re: Fwd: Raster Upload visualization issues

Alessio Fabiani-2
Dear Naresh,
this is a side effect caused by WMS tiled requests using the default "raster" style on GeoServer.

In order to improve this, you should create a correct SLD[1] of type RasterSymbolizer[2] compatible with your dataset, and upload it to GeoServer.

You can also use advanced colormaps, like [3].

Alessio Fabiani

Re: Fwd: Raster Upload visualization issues

naresh
Dear Alessio,

Thanks for the quick response.

However if we see same layer in Geoserver layer preview the issues are not observed, this means the problem might not be because of  side effect caused by WMS tiled requests using the default "raster" style on GeoServer.

Please upload Geotiff which i attached in my earlier mail in GeoNode and visualize this layer with Geonode;s Geoserver layer preview, the problems are not observed.

Kindly help me to resolve the issue

Thanks&Regards,
Naresh

Re: Fwd: Raster Upload visualization issues

naresh
Dear Alessio,
Thanks a lot for the response.
I am new raster styling using SLD , and gone thorough the links you have provided, I am not able to understand what are the minimum basic rules/tags required to add in SLD to remove the issues which I mentioned. if you aware  please share the minimum basic parameters we need to include to remove the patches/issues. I will replace/add the rules in  the default  SLD, so that by default, the uploaded raster visualization should  come good with tiled service also.

Best Regards,
Naresh

Re: Fwd: Raster Upload visualization issues

Alessio Fabiani-2
Dear Naresh,

you can maybe take a look at those links which may help you clarify better how the RasterSymbolizer works

Unfortunately it really depends on the structure of your data. I will be on leave those days, for a workshop. If you still are not able to find a solution, I can try to find some spare time to take a look at your geotiff. Problem is I really don't know if I will be able to respond in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks&Regards,
Naresh

In order to improve this, you should create a correct SLD[1] of type RasterSymbolizer[2] compatible with your dataset, and upload it to GeoServer.

You can also use advanced colormaps, like [3].

Dear All,
I have published Geotiff in my GeoNode server. Original uploaded geotiff is attached with the mail for reference. Please find the following screenshots with various scale levels.

 Scale:1:272492

Inline image 1
 scale:1:136428

Inline image 2

The following problems are observed

1. Some portion shining/brightness  is more, how ever if we increase zoom level in same portion, few portion only getting brighter and this is varying based on zoom level
2. Small ,small white lines are visible, which makes image quality poor
3.  Over all image is  visible as patches
4. Over all image looks compressed vertically

Kindly help me to resolve the issues

Note: I have tried to upload in demo Geonode site,GeoNode site is not working. Please kindly up the GeoNode demo server

Best Regards,
Naresh
