Fwd: Changes in the Polish plural rules

Richard Duivenvoorde
Transifex Webtranslation page for QGIS is on https://www.transifex.com/qgis/

Hi Polish translators,

Please have a look at the transifex email below I received, and let me
know what this means for polish translations.

Does one of our QGIS projects use this 'plural' forms?

Do we have to download the polish translations?
We do have the latest polish translations on the build server ( at least
for the docs and the website). I will download the latest .ts file just
to be sure.

Please let me know if I miss something. Also please have a look after
tomorrow to see what happened with our polish translations.

Regards,

Richard Duivenvoorde

Changes in the Polish plural rules

Hi there,

I hope this email finds you well.
I am reaching out to you in order to inform you about some changes that
we are planning to apply to the Polish language.

To be more precise, as you probably already know, Transifex follows ISO
Standards and Unicode CLDR data
<http://go.transifex.com/e1t/c/*W8hhqr_1FDJQlVst0BB6YfYw_0/*W6BM7xY5tj7TKN1pzWZ4N2zy00/5/f18dQhb0Sjvc8Y9ZwPW6Q-61Q2qwv1fV6QBCV32xBsDVf5c9R57mvC2W1BQYgz8Tm-CvW6Ww_zR5qH72-W5YybWH5KYVSZW8lZ8vz5lR-h2N79TbGsJtw2YW4NwnXq83KLYbW78Z0243sqjtRW4tx-Fp2TKsfnW2TTmgt2TL182W2zHQC24Bs6cnW4yx_8p2-J-SLW2z_tPY41Q2WgVZTf7N1YTF-HW7TnHDP5L1yFvW1Yb4kT4Js65kW1gvjSz8hz0YsW806yj370ml3sW3pBPMn7qJsg6W611ZR71bK4-LN89T09Yky7DWN60-M7gJLnSNW55g8L57p80Q1W4nTy0n5-b55gW3br3j45QRcjCW1s1lQD2WBZPmW5Lyz2j8WR2v3W6B2LcT2tW-qjW45L2-s7L5bP0W3c3JVS2mp2PSW5Dhzfg1pFB0lVrX3l16VzQjWV4v3dM2jqwP0W60LmRb8yvVxlVj8tbN49_vfTW5Lw5h083_1jVW4kcj2s3R7WH6N7K8B6PJ5gZfW2hxdSV723QzMW70RWHY4dwXGd111>for
the supported languages.

Currently, the number of Polish plural forms that Transifex supports is
3. However, according to CLDR data, the Polish language has 4 plural forms.

The new changes are going to be deployed on Feb 1st, so before that, we
would like to ask you to keep a backup of your resources in Transifex
where the Polish language is included in order to avoid losing any data.

After the new plural rules are applied to Transifex, you will need to
update source files (if the source language is Polish) or translation
files (if the target language is Polish) by adding the 4th plural form
to all the existing pluralized entries.

Then you can upload your files back to Transifex in order to properly
update your data.

Please feel free to reach out to me in case you need any further
clarifications.

I hope you have a great day ahead!
