Fwd: About wfs update to multiple rows

INFANTE, Jorge Luis
Hi
I need to produce a wfs update to multiple rows, computing the value of property using existing value (like property = property * 2).
Is it posible?
I'm preparing this xml, but, I need complete it:

<wfs:Update typeName="mylayer">
 <wfs:Property>
   <wfs:Name>myattribute</wfs:Name>
   <wfs:Value> </wfs:Value>  <---- I need put the computed value here
 </wfs:Property>
 <ogc:Filter>
   <ogc:And>
     <ogc:PropertyIsGreaterThan>
       <ogc:PropertyName>id</ogc:PropertyName>
       <ogc:Literal>9</ogc:Literal>
     </ogc:PropertyIsLessThan>
     <ogc:PropertyIsLessThan>
       <ogc:PropertyName>id</ogc:PropertyName>
       <ogc:Literal>19</ogc:Literal>
     </ogc:PropertyIsLessThan>
   </ogc:And>
 </ogc:Filter>
</wfs:Update>

I need to produce a sql like this:

update mylayer set myattribute = myattribute * 2 where id between 10 and 20;

Is it posible?

Thanks

Re: Fwd: About wfs update to multiple rows

Ian Turton
Please don't randomly cross post between lists and please don't "bump" posts if you don't get a response.

The GeoServer-devel list is for the developers of GeoServer to discuss the development, not to answer user questions which is what the geoserver-user list is for.

Please make sure you read the following two resources before posting to the user-list:
- Earning your support instead of buying it, but Ian Turton: http://www.ianturton.com/talks/foss4g.html#/
- The GeoServer user list posting guidelines: http://geoserver.org/comm/userlist-guidelines.html

And remember the people on these lists are volunteers fitting in answering questions around their day jobs so it may be awhile before they can get back to you. If this is an urgent matter you will want to look at commercial support options.

Re: Fwd: About wfs update to multiple rows

INFANTE, Jorge Luis
Excuse me, Ian.

Apologies by my error.

I was just anxious, and it was not clear to me if this was a problem using
the tool or related to development.
I think my problem has to do with the fact that the wfst protocol does not
support this functionality, which leaves it (at wfst) very disadvantaged
compared to the traditional sql, when we need do mass update.
Well, I'll continue waiting for someone to suggest something.
Unfortunately, we can not solve it commercially, for the time being.

Thanks
