Hello Ela,

Could you please tell me if you have installed ActiveState Perl, available from http://www.activestate.com/ActivePerl ?
Build steps can be found in OpenSourceBuild__README.txt

Regards,
Romy.

Elavazhagan
Hello Romy,

Yes, I do have ActivePerl installed to C:\Perl. Also, I am following only
OpenSourceBuild__README.txt to build FDO.

Do you have any other clue?

Thanks,
Ela.

RE: FDO VC 2008 - Compilation Issue

Romica Dascalescu
Hi Ela,

FdoMessage.h is a generated file and it gets genetated into "Your_FDO_path\Fdo\Unmanaged\Inc\FdoMessage.h" by project "Your_FDO_path\Fdo\Unmanaged\Src\Message.vcproj"
Below is the command line executed by the project. You can run yourself line by line from the command line where you set FDO variables. In case you get an error you can see the details about it. After running all below commands you should see FdoMessage.h in specified location.

CD "Your_FDO_path\Fdo\Unmanaged"

mc -U -h Inc\ -r Src\Message\ Src/Message/FDOMessage.mc
ren Src\Message\FDOMessage.rc MessageDynamic.rc
copy Src\Message\MessageStatic.rc+Src\Message\MessageDynamic.rc Src\Message\Message.rc
del Src\Message\MessageDynamic.rc
ren Inc\FDOMessage.h FdoMessage.h

Regards,
Romy.

RE: FDO VC 2008 - Compilation Issue - Resolution

Elavazhagan
Hi Romy,

Thanks for your help. Your workaround has helped me to figure out the actual
issue. When I was trying to run "mc" command, I found that the
"PlatformSDK\Bin" path was not added to the PATH system variable. When I
added it, everything got compiled well.

Regards,
Ela.
