Errors installing in Lubuntu 17.04

Carlos Henrique Grohmann de Carvalho-2
Hello all

I'm trying to install ODM on a Lubuntu 17.04 virtual machine (VirtualBox running in MacOS).
I'm getting errors with PCL and PDAL. (I'm running as root due some permissions errors in earlier attempts)

Below is the final part of the output messages.

Thanks for any help.

Carlos

On U16.04 these files are in packages:

apt-file search PCLConfig.cmake
libpcl-dev: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/cmake/pcl/PCLConfig.cmake
apt-file search OpenCVConfig.cmake
libopencv-dev: /usr/share/OpenCV/OpenCVConfig.cmake

Did you install these packages?

apt install libpcl-dev libopencv-dev

# maybe redo cmake config to update cached content.

Good luck
Martin

Re: Errors installing in Lubuntu 17.04

Carlos Henrique Grohmann de Carvalho-2
Thanks Martin

Those errors were fized by installing libpcl-dev and libopencv-dev.

Now I'm getting errors in the compilation step:

modules/odm_georef/CMakeFiles/odm_georef.dir/build.make:86: recipe for target 'modules/odm_georef/CMakeFiles/odm_georef.dir/src/Georef.cpp.o' failed

make[1]: *** [modules/odm_georef/CMakeFiles/odm_georef.dir/all] Error 2
Makefile:83: recipe for target 'all' failed
make: *** [all] Error 2
Configuration Finished

From what I see, it's looking for Georef.cpp at
???/modules/odm_georef/CMakeFiles/odm_georef.dir/src/

but I only found this file at
OpenDroneMap/modules/odm_georef/src

thanks again

Re: Errors installing in Lubuntu 17.04

Dakota Benjamin

All,

I think this issue is related: https://github.com/OpenDroneMap/OpenDroneMap/issues/410

For now I would suggest trying the docker install process detailed in the README while we look into these issues.

I see.

Ok, trying the version 0.3 (downloaded as tar.gz, since the git repo is about 1.4GB...), and running

docker build -t packages -f Dockerfile .

gives me an error with opencv:

Re: Errors installing in Lubuntu 17.04

Carlos Henrique Grohmann de Carvalho-2
Ok, I got it running under Docker.

I didn't understand at first how docker works, and was under the impression that I *had* to compile it from source. After I realized that 'docker pull opendronemap/opendronemap' was the way to go, it all got easier.

BTW, I would recommend updating the instructions with 'docker pull' followed by usage examples. This would simplify things and make it easier for novices in docker.

best

Carlos

Now I'm getting errors in the compilation step:

modules/odm_georef/CMakeFiles/odm_georef.dir/build.make:86: recipe for target 'modules/odm_georef/CMakeFiles/odm_georef.dir/src/Georef.cpp.o' failed
make[2]: *** [modules/odm_georef/CMakeFiles/odm_georef.dir/src/Georef.cpp.o] Error 1
CMakeFiles/Makefile2:170: recipe for target 'modules/odm_georef/CMakeFiles/odm_georef.dir/all' failed
make[1]: *** [modules/odm_georef/CMakeFiles/odm_georef.dir/all] Error 2
Makefile:83: recipe for target 'all' failed
make: *** [all] Error 2
Configuration Finished

From what I see, it's looking for Georef.cpp at
???/modules/odm_georef/CMakeFiles/odm_georef.dir/src/

but I only found this file at
OpenDroneMap/modules/odm_georef/src

thanks again

Carlos

pcl and opencv, as it seems...

On U16.04 these files are in packages:

apt-file search PCLConfig.cmake
libpcl-dev: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/cmake/pcl/PCLConfig.cmake
apt-file search OpenCVConfig.cmake
libopencv-dev: /usr/share/OpenCV/OpenCVConfig.cmake

Did you install these packages?

apt install libpcl-dev libopencv-dev

# maybe redo cmake config to update cached content.

Good luck
Martin
