Dynamic Maps

My MapGuide 6.5 application dynamically creates layers (SDFs) from external databases, adding them to the display and to the MWX file which is turned back into the MWF for later use.  Symbols are also added to the MWX as needed.

 

Is there a capability within the New MapGuide to dynamically create layers?  Everything I read talks about pre-defined ‘Resources’, so maybe there’s a means (through an API?) to dynamically add resources.

 

I’d appreciate anyone pointing me in the right direction to make this happen!

The Web API allows for the dynamic layer creation.  Dynamic everything.

Create a layer - add it to the map - save the map - presto.

There is a sample in the MapGuide Developers Guide:
