DataCatalog

Mohammed Rashad
Hi,
I am Mohammed Rashad K.M. I had developed a DataCatalog for GRASS GIS using wxpython GUI. I had got the idea from the grass GUI wiki. some sample screenshots of the dataCatalog is uploaded.
you can visit the link below to view the screens. Even though my coding is not comepleted, I am sending this link because I dont know what to do after coding is completed and also need some support to complete it. Mainly i want to make sure that this kind of app in required in GRASS GUI.
I am also planning to copy, paste, deleteĀ  maps in different mapsets. Now DataCatalog can display maps.

Re: DataCatalog

Jarek Jasiewicz
Hi

Seems very nice and promise work. Congratulation! It will be very useful
tool to manage GRASS GIS Data.

First I suggest you to move to grass-dev list. GRASS-GUI looks now
usable, so put somewhere in the INTERNET code to look into. The screens
show that it is promise stage of development.

I cannot read from screens but the most important element shall be
possibility to delete, rename, copy and multiply delete (dengerous!!!)
the data. It not so difficult with nativeGRASS command so GUI shall only
add graphical warper for it. It could be available under right mouse
button or as buttons somewhere in the gui. There also could be metadata
information (maybe in lower part of screen) received by r.info. I think
it would be minimal to publish it to debuging and future development.
Very good work!!!.
Thanks.

Jarek

In reply to this post by Mohammed Rashad
Mohammed,

This looks very interesting. Please contact project director Markus
Neteler <[hidden email]> for access to the GRASS Addons SVN.
You can post this code for others to test.

Thanks for your interest and support of the GRASS project
