deegree joins OSGeo foundation

The deegree Project Steering Committee is pleased to announce that
deegree enters the OSGeo incubation process. Incubation is a stepping
stone to becoming a full fledged OSGeo project. With this step the
deegree project shows again its dedication to the development of
standards-based geospatial software and the international community of
its users and developers.

deegree is a Java Framework offering the main building blocks for
Spatial Data Infrastructures. Its entire architecture is developed using
standards of the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) and ISO/TC 211.
deegree implements standards including WMS, WFS, WCS, CSW, WCTS,
WTS/WPVS and WPS. deegree iGeoPortal standard and portlet edition are
the browser-based clients for the mentioned OGC Web Services. deeJUMP,
being a collection of OpenJUMP plug-ins, provides a SDI-enabled Desktop-GIS.

The Open Source Geospatial Foundation (OSGeo) has been created to
support and build the highest-quality open source geospatial software.
The foundation's goal is to encourage the use and collaborative
development of community-led projects.

deegree tritt OSGeo Foundation bei

Das Steuerungskommitee des deegree-Projektes freut sich mitteilen zu
können, dass deegree den OSGeo-Inkubationsprozess begonnen hat.
Inkubation ist ein Schritt auf dem Weg ein vollwertiges OSGeo-Projekt zu
werden. Mit diesem Schritt zeigt das deegree-Projekt einmal mehr sein
Engagement hinsichtlich der Entwicklung von Standard-basierter
raumbezogener Software und der internationalen Gemeinschaft seiner
Nutzer und Entwickler.

deegree ist ein Java-Framework, das die wichtigsten Bausteine für
Geodateninfrastrukturen zur Verfügung stellt. Seine gesamte Architektur
ist an den Standards des Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) und ISO/TC 211
ausgerichtet. deegree implementiert Standards wie WMS, WFS, WCS, CSW,
WTS/WPVS und WPS. deegree iGeoPortal standard und portlet edition sind
browserbasierte Clients für die erwähnten OGC Web Services. deeJUMP,
eine Sammlung von OpenJUMP plug-ins, stellt ein GDI-fähiges Desktop-GIS dar.

Die Open Source Geospatial Foundation (OSGeo) wurde ins Leben gerufen,

entwickeln. Das Ziel der Stiftung ist es die Nutzung und
